COVID in 2021!! ... WE ARE STILL OPEN & DELIVERING!!

Yet again, we are responding correctly and responsibly to government advice & directives but as an online retailer WE ARE STILL OPEN and operating normally for DAILY DESPATCHES and for Click & Collect at our premises.
Our warehouse is closed to customers but is still well stocked with all of our usual products and most deliveries of these stock items will still be made NEXT-DAY (Mon-Fri). We are not yet aware if any of our supplier factories are closing, so made-to-order & other non-stock items may be on long lead times but this will be displayed by each product range if so.

We close for business at 5:00pm on Tuesday 22nd December 2020.
We re-open for business at 7:30am on Monday 4th January 2021.
Some deliveries will be made between these dates for online orders but telephones will not be staffed.

Normal business resumed - almost!

Everything is running smoothly again with generally great stocks and full staff levels. However, three problems outside our control are still causing problems.
1/ UK carriers are all still finding it difficult to deliver everything NEXT-DAY. We still despatch eveything on that NEXT-DAY service and most achieve it but there are still a few which are taking 2 or 3 days. Apologies if your delivery is one of those but there is nothing we can do about it. Hopefully soon to improve.
2/ UK stocks of most TRIPOD garden ladders are still struggling to keep up with demand. Those most affected are imported from Japan so when sold out can take some time to get back into stock. Importers are trying to overcome this issue but in the short term we aplogise for the poor availability. Please read our notes about when deliverieries are next expected or order instead our UK made GROUNDSMAN tripods which we DO normally have in stock!
2/ Domestic duty STEEL TOWERS are also a constant stock problem. UK manufactured but selling faster than we can make them. Apologies. Please read notes about availabilty on each product page.
COVID19 - Back to normal hours

We are pleased to advise that we are now back to normal opening hours, normal phone system and near-normal staff levels. We still have one or two stock availability problems but we are working on those and in general things are as they were pre-covid. We look forward to your orders and enquiries!

We are responding correctly and responsibly to government advice & directives but as an online retailer WE ARE STILL OPEN, although with much reduced staff numbers working fewer hours.
Our warehouse is well stocked with all of our usual products and most deliveries of these stock items will still be made NEXT-DAY (Mon-Fri). Please note, though, that many of our supplier factories are closing so made-to-order & other non-stock items may be on long lead times.
Please order online as normal and advise which day you require delivery but our cut-off times for same day despatch will probably be earlier than stated on web pages, depending on our carriers' revised opertaing schedule. Please order by midday if you want same day despatch and delivery the following day. We will advise you of delivery details when we receive your order.
We will be open for fewer hours than normal but phone calls will still be answered by machine. We will call you back to discuss your particular enquiry later that or the following day. Emailing sales@ladders999.co.uk will normally get a faster reply.

New Euro Standard EN131 changes

In early 2019 the new, revised European Standard EN131 for ladders and steps will come into force. This will entail several changes to our products, some of which will not be obvious to users and some which will be all too obvious!
Probably the most notable is that all ladders over 3.0m will HAVE to be fitted with a horizontal stabiliser bar fitted across the base. This will be exactly the same as has been fitted for years to many Combination Ladders such as Skymasters. The length of this stabiliser bar will vary according to the ladder length but this increase in safety will have a downside for some users in that all ladder will be more of a problem to stack and store on roof racks and in storerooms.
We will be selling existing stocks of ladders made in 2018 without these bars initially in the new year and these will continue to be perfectly acceptable to the Health & Safety Executive for use throughout their lifetime. The immediate effect is that all manufacturers have to fit this bar to all tall ladders from January 2019 and these will filter into our stocks as the months continue.

HSE warnings about dangerous Telescopic & Combination Ladders DO NOT AFFECT Ladders999!!
Please be aware that NONE of our ladders have been criticised or withdrawn because of the recent problems with some Chinese ladders. These were imported by bucket-shop UK companies chasing the lowest possible price without considering product quality or customer safety.
Ladders999 have traded on quality and honesty for all of the 46 years of our existence and have never been involved in that "price is the only concern" end of the market. We are offering safe ladders which have genuinely been tested and certified to relevant BS & EN standards as displayed against each of them. No worries needed with Ladders999 !!!!
