Product Features
- STAIRWELLS are always difficult areas to access for decorating etc but we offer a simple, low-cost solution.
- These kits use components from our standard Domestic Tower range to create a compact unit which will work in almost all domestic stairwells.
- Very compact when dismantled for storage.
- Quickly and easily assembled to provide a safe platform 4ft long x 2ft wide on your staircase.
- Frame width 2' 0" / 600mm. Total width needed on stairs including base plates 2' 5" / 730mm maximum.
- No tools needed for assembly - it simply slots together in no time.
- Gives a reach height of about 13ft 6ins above the lowest stair tread and about 11ft above the upper stair tread.
- Can also be assembled on level ground to make a small tower.
- A sturdy steel scaffold with 32mm diameter vertical tubes x 16 gauge wall thickness and a new, high quality epoxy-powder finish in BRIGHT YELLOW.
- Standard kit includes 4ft side frames, 2ft end frames, diagonal brace, 2ft handrails, platform boards, plain base plates, screw-jack adjustable base plates. Extra frames are included for taller models.
- Note: Taller models (DMT42/08ST & DMT42/10ST - not illustrated) must be tied-in securely to a rigid structure or have stabilisers/outriggers fitted for safety. Footprint (outreach) of stabilisers can be reduced to fit space available by fitting higher up on tower leg.

Tallest model DM42/10ST = above components plus extra 2 x 2ft End Frames, 2 x extra 4ft Side Frames, 1 x extra Diagonal Brace 4x2.
Note: Taller models (DM42/08ST & DM42/10ST - not illustrated) must be tied-in securely to a rigid structure or have stabilisers/outriggers fitted for safety. Footprint (outreach) of stabilisers can be reduced to fit into space available by fixing higher up on tower leg. Longest arm of stabilisers is 6’7”/2.00m long.
Platform Heights are the height of your feet when standing with a guardrail around you as shown. Approx Working Heights are the heights you can reach, which are 3ft to 6ft above the height of the platform.
Problem stairs ..… It only happens rarely but very occasionally it is not possible to level the scaffold using just the flat base plates and adjustable bases supplied in the kits. In these circumstances it may be necessary to add blocks under the top or bottom end to make the scaffold fit correctly and level. This is normally most easily done by buying two or four 9” dense concrete building blocks from a builders merchant and laying them flat on their side on the upper or lower stair tread. These cost pennies, are very strong, and will nearly always solve your problem. Whatever you use for this, always ensure it is strong enough to support the weight of you and the scaffold and large enough to prevent the scaffold sliding off it when in use.
