Very useful. The rubber pads come pre-slotted over a rectangular metal hoop. I bent the hoop ends open enough (quite hard to do but not impossible) to allow the pads to be removed from it, for situations where staying fastened to the hoop doesn't allow them to be spaced widely enough apart. Still worth five stars for convenience and effectiveness.
